The Financier’s Day

On September 8, 1802 the first in the history of Russia Ministry of Finance was established by the Decree of Emperor Alexander I. This date was chosen to celebrate the Financier’s Day that was established by the Decree “On the Financier’s Day” of President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev on August 19, 2011.

Since then, the day of financiers is officially celebrated on September the 8th in Russia. Today, the Ministry of Finance represents the executive power at the federal level. The Ministry of Finance is in Charge of maintenance of state policy conduction, legal regulation of budget, monetary, insurance, banking, tax and auditing activities, credit cooperation, public debt and microfinancing. A financer is an expert that implements financial transactions on legal grounds. Such people play quite an important role in Russian economy today.

On the instruction given by President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev in 2008 Moscow should eventually become an international financial center, able to compete with London and Hong Kong. The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia elaborated a concept this project. This concept was approved by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2009.  

It is the representatives of the financial sector that play the main role in forming an absolutely new, modernized economy based on the combination of free enterprise and satisfaction population’s needs.

Due to the active formation of budgetary relations, expanding financial structure and transition to the market economy the financial profession is in demand in Russia. Today, true professionals that are active, responsible and competent are engaged in this sphere.
